Galleries
Create, configure, and share photo galleries with the right delivery settings.
Overview
Galleries are the core of Exportlab. You upload photos, configure how clients should access them, and share a clean link.
Each gallery supports PIN protection, AI indexing, categories, and a custom cover image.
You choose the gallery mode at creation: Standard, Collaborative, or Group Shoot.
Create a gallery
Start a new gallery
Go to Galleries and click New Gallery.
Choose a mode
Pick Standard, Collaborative, or Group Shoot depending on how clients should interact.
Upload your photos
Drag-and-drop files or use the file picker. You can enable AI indexing or Face Recognition during upload.
Configure settings
Set the name, cover image, categories, and access rules in Edit Gallery.
Gallery settings
After creation, all settings live in Edit Gallery. The most important ones are:
- Name & description — shown on the public gallery page.
- PIN protection — restrict access with a 4-digit PIN.
- Cover image — the thumbnail used in lists and portals.
- Categories — organize photos into sections and set the display order.
- Features — enable Face Recognition or Smart Discovery when needed.
Uploading & file handling
Supported formats include JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and AVIF.
Exportlab generates optimized variants for fast previews while preserving the original file.
- Thumbnail, mini, and social variants are created automatically.
- Trial accounts are limited to 500 MB per file; paid plans support larger files.
- Deleting a file removes it permanently from storage.
Common issues
- Client cannot access the gallery: verify the PIN or remove it.
- Photos appear in the wrong order: drag to reorder inside Edit Gallery.
- Cover image missing: set a new cover if the original was deleted.
- Upload fails for large files: check plan limits or upgrade.
